Built in 1848, Hathee Singh Jain Temple is dedicated to Dharmanatha, the 15th of Jain Tirthankars. It is flocked by devotees of all religions and also sees a steady flow of tourists. This double-storied building houses 52 shrines and 11 deities. One of the most revered Jain temples in the state, Hathee Singh Jain Temple sees a steady crowd of devotees thronging the premises all year long.
Apart from its religious value, brilliant carvings on the front dome are a worth observing. Built entirely out of marble, it has long winding passages and a courtyard that has on display cloisters. This temple was built in 1848 by an Ahmedabadi merchant, apparently with wealth amassed from the opium trade with China. The basement has an iron safe with a logo of Queen Victoria wearing Gujarati jewellery.
